Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the KhataPro mobile application and
related websites at khata.arkbytetech.com (the "Service") provided by
RudraTech ("KhataPro", "we", "us"). The Service is offered as an
"intermediary" within the meaning of § 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology
Act, 2000 and operates in compliance with the Information Technology
(Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 ("IT
Rules 2021") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a contract under
the Indian Contract Act 1872 to use KhataPro. The Service is intended
for business use within India. By creating an account, you represent that
you meet these requirements.
2. Your account
You can sign in with any of three methods: phone OTP, Google Sign-In, or
email + password. If you choose email + password, your password is stored
only as a bcrypt hash; we cannot read it. You can reset a forgotten
password via the Forgot password flow, which delivers a single-use
reset link to your registered email through Resend. You are responsible
for safeguarding the phone number, Google account, or email + password
combination used to access your account, and for keeping your reset email
inbox secure. Notify us at rudratech97@gmail.com immediately if you
suspect unauthorised access. You may not transfer your account to anyone
else.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to send spam, harass any party, or violate any law.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service.
- Probe, attack, or attempt to disable the Service's security.
- Use the Service to record or process payments for goods that are illegal
- Upload any content that is unlawful under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules
to sell in India.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. In line with
IT Rules 2021, we will remove unlawful content within 36 hours of receipt
of a valid takedown order from a competent authority.
4. Your content
You own the data you put into KhataPro — ledger entries, customer
details, invoices, photos of receipts, etc. **Photos and receipt images
that you attach are stored only on your device** under
<ApplicationDocumentsDirectory>/attachments/; the server stores nothing
more than a relative path string. You grant us a limited, worldwide,
non-exclusive licence to host, copy, display, and back up the **text
data you sync** (ledger entries, parties, invoices, etc.) solely for the
purpose of providing the Service to you.
You can export a ZIP of your on-device attachments at any time from
Settings → Backup → Export attachments and share it to Google Drive,
USB, your own email, or any destination of your choice. Backups never
travel through our servers — you own and control them.
5. Pricing — free, ad-supported
KhataPro is offered free of charge with in-app advertising via Google
AdMob. There is no paid tier in v1, no in-app purchases, and no
subscriptions. Every shop, big or small, gets the full app.
6. Refunds
See our [Refund Policy](/refund). Because the app is free, refunds
generally do not apply. The policy is published for completeness and to
cover any future paid offering.
7. Communication providers — sent from your device
Reminders that you send to your customers via WhatsApp or SMS open your
own WhatsApp / SMS app via standard wa.me and sms: deep-links —
the message is sent from your phone, by you, using your number.
KhataPro does not operate as an SMS gateway or as a WhatsApp
Business Solution Provider in v1; we do not log or store the content of
those messages. You remain the sender for the purposes of the Telecom
Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018 (TRAI /
DLT regulations) and the WhatsApp Business policy, and you confirm the
recipient has consented to receive communication from your business.
8. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. We are
not liable for downtime caused by upstream providers, force majeure, or
your own connectivity.
9. Advertising
KhataPro is monetised through Google AdMob in the following formats:
- Banner at the bottom of the dashboard and customers list.
- Interstitial after every third "save" event (transactions, invoices,

We do not use app-open ads. Personalisation of ads is governed by the
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow shown in supported
regions (EEA, UK, California). You may revoke or change your
ad-personalisation choice at any time from **Settings → Privacy → Ad
personalisation**. Non-personalised ads will still be shown to keep the
app free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any
claim arising out of these Terms is capped at the greater of (a) ₹10,000
or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving
rise to the claim.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify KhataPro / RudraTech against any claim arising
out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these
Terms.
12. Suspension
We may suspend an account where we have reasonable grounds to believe the
account is being used to violate these Terms — including spam,
harassment, fraud, attempting to circumvent platform security, or
repeated abuse of WhatsApp / SMS deep-links to send unsolicited messages.
A suspended account will be unable to call our APIs and will see an
in-app account_suspended notice with the reason. You may appeal the
suspension by emailing rudratech97@gmail.com or by writing to the
Grievance Officer. Appeals are reviewed within 7 business days.
13. Grievance redressal
In compliance with Rule 4(2) of the IT Rules 2021, we maintain a Grievance
Officer:

14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Indian law. Disputes are subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
15. Changes
We will notify you in-app and via email at least 14 days before any
material change to these Terms. The app re-prompts for consent whenever
the policy version stored on your device differs from the current
published version.
